Mentorship Program Spring 2022
UW WIF's Mentorship Program is back for Spring 2022! Due to popular demand, we will now be running the program on a rolling basis. Starting in June 2022, this three-month opportunity will give you the opportunity to connect with an alum or upper-year student working in the finance industry. You will receive one-on-one mentorship and support as you begin your career in finance!
Both new and past applicants are welcome. We will be accepting female University of Waterloo students in any year/program that are interested in launching a career in finance. Apply by 6pm EST on Friday, May 27th if you’re interested—spots are limited and acceptances will be made on a rolling basis, so apply ASAP! If you’re an upper-year student or recent grad that is interested in becoming a mentor for this program, please fill out the sign-up form to get involved! |
SIF x WIF Recruitment Workshop
Are you interested in applying to SAF’s Student Investment Fund (SIF)? Do you want to gain a better understanding of the recruitment process and receive personalized feedback on your SIF application? Would you like to receive tips on how to stand out in a SIF interview?
UW WIF is excited to announce that we have partnered with SIF to host an in-person Recruitment Workshop on Wednesday, July 6th from 11:30am - 2:30pm in Hagey Hall Room 227! This event will begin with a 30-minute Q&A panel featuring current women on SIF where they will discuss their experience on the fund, followed by a 2.5 hour drop-in session where you can receive one-on-one feedback on your SIF application and interview tips. Feel free to bring your cover letter and resume (but it’s not required), and come prepared to learn and ask any questions you may have! Please note that this event is only open to female-identifying SAF students. |
Lunch & Learn with Lara Zink
Are you interested in hearing insights from an experienced leader in the finance industry? Would you like to learn more about diversity and inclusion in finance?
UW WIF is excited to announce the first speaker of our Lunch & Learn series - Lara Zink! Lara is the President and CEO of WCM (Women in Capital Markets), a national not-for-profit organization striving to accelerate equity, diversity and inclusion in finance. Lara will tell us more about WCM, her career path, and experience navigating the capital markets space. This session will take place from 12-1pm EST on July 11th, and will consist of an overview of Lara’s experiences followed by an open Q&A session. If you want to learn more about Lara or WCM, register for this virtual event by 6pm EST on Saturday, July 9th!
