Resume Critiques and Mock Interviews

WIF is excited to host our annual resume critiques and mock interviews on Saturday, September 24th, 2022. We will be offering one-on-one virtual meetings with experienced upper-year students for those who are interested in pursuing a career in the finance industry. As co-op applications are underway, this is an excellent way to get feedback on your resume and practice for your interviews!

Please apply by Wednesday, September 21st, 2022 at 6pm EST. If you are selected, we will send you further details via email!

Mentorship Program Fall 2022

We are excited to announce the return of our Mentorship Program for Fall 2022! Starting in October 2022, this 3-month program will give you the opportunity to connect with an alum or upper-year student working in the finance industry. You will receive one-on-one mentorship and support as you begin your career in finance! Both new and past applicants are welcome. We will be accepting female University of Waterloo students in any year/program that are interested in launching a career in finance.

​Apply by 6pm EST on Sunday, October 2nd, 2022 if you’re interested—spots are limited and acceptances will be made on a rolling basis, so apply ASAP!

SIF X WIF MBA Panel

Are you interested in hearing from professionals who have completed their MBA from top business schools? Are you looking to grow your network?

WIF is excited to host an MBA panel with the Student Investment Fund! This panel will be held virtually on October 31st, from 4 to 5pm EST and will feature successful alumni from top business schools including Harvard Business School, University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and Stanford Graduate School of Business. This is a great chance to network with business graduate students and learn from their experiences.

Resume Workshop with CIBC Capital Markets

Are you curious about how you can tailor your resume for finance jobs? Are you looking to get your resume in with recruiters?

WIF is excited to collaborate with CIBC Capital Markets to host a Resume Workshop on November 4th, 2022 from 11:00AM to 12:15PM! The event consists of a resume workshop and critique, followed by a Q&A session. You will also have the opportunity to share your resume with the CIBC Capital Markets Campus team!

This is a great chance to network, while getting expert tips for your resume, so do not miss out! Apply below by November 2 by 6 pm EST.

Fireside Chat with Katy Yam

Are you interested in pursuing a career in venture capital? Do you want to hear from a TEDx Producer? Are you curious to learn about what it’s like being a Board Member?

UW WIF is excited to announce our Fireside Chat with Katy Yam! Katy is a Partner at Real Ventures, General Manager of FounderFuel, and Producer at TEDxMontreal. Prior to stepping into these roles, Katy has held positions in product development, business intelligence, and marketing across various industries such as venture capital, artificial intelligence, and telecommunications. Katy also holds an MBA and an ICD.D designation, and has served as a Board Member for many companies. This session will take place from 3-4pm EST on November 11th and will consist of an overview of Katy’s career followed by an open Q&A. Register below by 6 pm EST, November 10. This event is open to students of all genders and universities!
