My Journey to Finance
Patricia Guo Are you trying to figure out whether you want to work in finance or accounting for your next co-op? Interested in learning about the experiences of someone who’s been in your position? We are excited to announce the author of the first blog in our My Journey to Finance series, Patricia Guo! She is a recent AFM grad who will be walking us through her journey to finance! Patricia has completed her co-op terms in Valuations at BDO and Infrastructure Investments at TD Asset Management, and is currently working fulltime as an Analyst at Canada Infrastructure Bank. In this blog, Patricia explains what a typical day looks like in each of her roles, the challenges she has faced throughout her journey, and she even offers some advice on how to deal with a heavy workload! Pamela Zeng Are you thinking about trying a finance role for your next co-op? Curious to see how you can leverage extracurricular experiences in your undergrad to land a full-time job in finance? We are excited to announce the author of the second blog in our My Journey to Finance series, Pamela Zeng! Pamela first became interested in finance when she joined UWFA and attended the hEDGE Conference in her first year. She completed her co-op terms in Assurance at EY, Valuations at Scotiabank, and Investment Banking at Bloom Burton & Co. She is currently working full-time at CIBC in their Alternate Solutions Group. In this blog, Pamela goes through her experiences and how she leveraged different opportunities at the University of Waterloo, such as joining the Student Investment Fund, participating in the CFA Institute Research Challenge, and travelling to Hong Kong during the international study course to gain more skills and broaden her horizons. |
